This Wiki is being designed as a counterpart to the Billy vs. SNAKEMAN Wiki. Like that wiki, it is a supplement for the online game, Billy vs. SNAKEMAN, a parody of the popular anime series, Naruto… And a whole lot of other stuff, too.
So much other stuff, in fact, that keeping up with the array of references has proven to be rather difficult. In addition, the game has, over time, developed something resembling an actual (and ever-growing) world setting, aided by the varying statements of The Eleventy Billionth HoKage, AKA McMasters, the creator of Billy vs. SNAKEMAN.
The existing Billy vs. SNAKEMAN Wiki is a useful play resource, but (for the sake of page brevity if nothing else) doesn't really provide space for discussing what is being parodied in detail, or the many details of the game's setting that don't necessarily matter for gameplay. So, this wiki was established to work towards four goals:
- Explain - in some detail - the items/characters/abilities/phenomona being parodied and how the parody compares to the original. (We should not try and replace the actual wikis for those sources - in fact, linking to said wikis, as opposed to Wikipedia, is encouraged).
- Find and post up details that have been talked about by McMasters about the game's world, setting, etc., so that interested players don't have to hunt them down (or ask the same question over and over on the BillyClub Q&A).
- Wikify the culture around the game - interesting players (NOT every single player!), memes that don't directly apply to the game, etc. (Note that this ISN'T a general meme gathering - if the meme isn't specific to or related to the game or forums, it doesn't belong.)
- Write more humor, fleshings-out, etc., for items covered while making clear that these aren't canon. Ideally, someone could take the information on this Wiki and use it - with some elaboration - as a world setting for a pencil-and-paper RPG - if a really, really weird one.
We don't keep a lot of rules around here, outside of specific sections, but remember that Our Lord 11DBHK does know about this site as a way to check what players are known to know (versus his personal database collects truth), so let's not embarrass ourselves with terribly-written Billy/Emosuke slashfics, okay? :)
